You Just Lost the Game.
WHAT THE HELL?!?! HOW IS IT ALREADY SEPTEMBER??? Btw, about the title of the post: You're gonna hafta watch this vlogbrothers video about THE GAME & soccer World Cup interventions.
Now that you've thoroughly enjoyed losing the game as well as losing in every effort you have and will ever give in your life, how bout some GROUNDBREAKING NEWS? (Just kidding about the You-just-failed-and-will-continue-to-fail-at-life thing; losing the game is a very good and somewhat amusing thing!!!)
Blinda and I, at ages we do not wish to disclose because they are so very out there in terms of what we finally did, have gotten our ears pierced. Piercing Pagoda, baby. She's got the ladybugs, I have tiny gold flowers, and man, is it good to be earring-initiated.
Secondly, I urge you to go out and buy only reusable metal water bottles from now until death do you part. And when you come back home from the store, recycle all of the plastic bottles in sight. Pourquoi/pourqué/为什么, you ask???? Hey, it's BPA (bisphenol-A) attacking you in your very home!!! BPA is a chemical used in plastic production that's been linked to reduced sperm count in men, premature puberty in girls, and diabetes. So if you buy the reusable METAL water bottle, it saves plastic, the energy it would have taken to make all those plastic bottles you would have used throughout the rest of your life, and you don't get to lose any sperm! That's what I call a win-win situation. ;)
The questionable hazard of BPA is described in these 3 articles, and is--as of now--inconclusive. However, it's your choice whether you expose yourself and your family to a potentially toxic chemical that could be easily avoided if you just knew where to find BPA by reading up on it (and if you just bought the dang metal water bottle!!!) Make sure it doesn't have a plastic lining, though, cuz the first article describes that.
Enjoy the Back-to-School specials (:P) and the Jewish New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yours 'til the foot steps,
~Nerdette Ari (P.S. I stole this closing greeting technique from here. Thought I should give the author some credit.)

"Learn to just be still, until you really really know..."
(See playlist @ Right)
Regarding this post's title--Janelle Monae is crazy, but she's the man.
In other news--Today, Jason Mraz taught me how to compost. Actually, he gave a link that led to a site that taught me how to compost; it wasn't a face-to-face conversation, me standing a few feet away from the beloved singer/blogger/beginner, where I was graciously receiving his instruction. Yeah, when pigs fly.
Blinda and I did, however, hug John Ondrasik (alias Five For Fighting) a night ago at a free concert. He told us he was a big hugger, and our awesome friend who informed us of the concert got him to autograph her CD. Greg the guitarist was also made of awesome.
It was a great night, where fun was had and great live music was heard by all.
But on the topic of composting in your own backyard, um, yeah, I'm thinking of doing that--I just don't know how well the idea of keeping a heap of decay by the side of the house will go over with my mom. All the same, it's so much greener than throwing away the organic material with the food wrappers in the trash, and not making economical use out of it, so I'm workin' on that.
The same can be said for my progress in Jane Eyre, which, while a good story-driven novel that doesn't melodramatize its depressing sort of tone, is taking for-freaking-ever to finish. The three other assignments I was given this summer will have to wait 'til I finish that really long, really verbose novel.
In other news besides the first tidbits of news--How was your day??????????
(Sergio, that is the one impression of you you will ever see in typed words from me, despite the innumerable impressions you have on me. So suck it [as Natalie would say]).
Yours 'til the sun_dries,
Nerdette Arine (lied to you when she said she would post more often. I entreat you to build a bridge, and get over it)

It really just can't decide whether it wants to rain or not
So I'm stuck in the house.
I should've gotten myself dinner half an hour ago, but the heat is too oppressive for physical exertion.
I also have a Yorkshire Terrier in my lap.
As I type this blog post in the stifling humidity, I have no idea what to write about (rather, complain to you about), aside from the brain-melting conditions that surround me.
Except the fact that this t-shirt reminded me of Blinda:

Click here for link 2 Threadless Tees
I really shouldn't be wasting precious time in front of the computer, especially since the main AC unit is down and sitting one place for an hour has not been particularly comfortable, but I just did some research on green universities (nerd that I am).
AND, I found the sweetest, most soft and cutesy romantic music you'll ever hear from the 21st century: Click here for Zee Avi's amazing music album !!
I was supposed to be Sparknotes-ing the The Great Gatsby, but after that I kinda got sidetracked...
Like I am getting now. SO, there are apparently a bunch of colleges that specialize in environmental subjects like sustainability. One offers a degree in human ecology and is located on an island in Maine. UC Berkeley's College of Natural resources says they're "a community of natural and social scientists working together to improve the quality of our environment" whose mission is "...to advance our knowledge and understanding of natural resource systems in order to develop innovative solutions to complex environmental challenges." And they have so many courses at USC under the general name "sustainability"--more than 40 to be exact. Many of them claim their environmental programs are awesome, but after reading the mission statements of the last couple, it's like they're all saying the same thing. I don't even know what I want to do with my life; IF I do so choose to go into environmental science, how will I know which colleges to go for?!?!?!?!?!
Sorry for that slightly melodramatic interjection there. Here comes another one: I just looked out the window. It's pouring!!!!! K, it's definitely time for dinner now. I really hope that stating my flaws will help me develop effective solutions toward bettering myself as a human being.
Well, it's a first step.
Thanx for letting me pour my thoughts out to yall. Have a nice evenin' now. XD

I have come to a decision:
- ...to post more often, whenever I'm not breaking my back and losing my sanity over summer assignments (which happen to be rather demanding).
- ...to relax this summer.
- (The bullet point above may seem contradictory, considering my extensive summer homework, but I'm definitely not attempting to work on that crap ALL the time. However, I am in serious need of some time management skills.)
- ...to acquire some time management skills. (There we go.)
- ...to not spend excessive amounts of time on the computer, but instead to work on all internal management there is to be done. That means I'm forcing myself to shut down the iMac within the next ten minutes. T_T
- ...to get some coffee.
- (Everybody needs a coffee break once in a while. Unless you're not into coffee; that's good too. It's a decaffeinatedbeverage break.)
- ...and my most important point is: to post discussions/issues related to the environment. With nerdy flair. Because I'm pretty sure that's what this blog was set out to accomplish in the first place, and we've been hurtin' without our eco-posts. Those, and Blinda's nonsense rants. ^_^
XD
