CHESS ISN'T NERDY!
It is simply too challenging for people and their puny minds to comprehend and appreciate its awesomeness, creating a "Sour Grape Effect" (metaphorically speaking of course) in opinion, and therefore it is looked down upon and proclaimed "nerdy."
